IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC:

Approved Driving Instructor North DublinFrom 1st of may 2009 it is illegal and a criminal offence for any driving instructor to carry out driving lessons or to conduct pre-tests for reward (money) all driving instructors have to be approved and passed all 3 exams set by the RSA (Road Safety Authority)'

To make sure you driving instructor is an A.D.I (Approved Driving Instructor) you can view a full list of adi’s on the following website:
http://www.rsa.ie/Utility/Driving-Instructors1/Check-ADI-Register

A driving instructor who is “registered” with the RSA but not on the above list is not an “A.D.I” – (Approved Driving Instructor) We must pass all 3 exams and paid the registration fee to have our name listed on the above website. The cost of the three A.D.I exams plus the registration fee is €800! We have to pay this fee in order to stay in the industry plus we have to pass an annual check test from the RSA to prove that we are teaching at the highest possible standard.
More importantly we must hold an approved driving instructor adi permit or badge with:

• Our photo with fulll name,
• A.D.I reference number ,
• Licence category (for example B category for cars)
• The expiry date of the permit must be under our photo.

All ADI instructors have to be people of good repute and we must have never committed a serious crime. We have to prove this by filling in a garda vetting form to get our past police history. We must also show proof that we are tax compliant with the Revenue and send a tax clearance certificate to the RSA.

Members of the public are being misled by some driving ROGUE INSTRUCTORS who claim that they are fully qualified when they are not. Please be warned that there are hundreds of driving instructors around the country teaching for reward who have never done a driving instructor course or any kind of driving exam other than the Department of Transport driving test!! They are falsely advertising ADI with ADI stickers on their cars but if it is not accompanied with their RSA-ADI reference number, then they are not ADI instructors.
If this is the case you’re not being taught by a fully qualified driving instructor & he/she is breaking the law! Make sure you ask him/her are they A.D.I and ask to see his/her permit before starting your lessons or pre-tests.

Finally if he/she is a member of the D.I.R (Driving Instructor Register) but not an A.D.I (approved driving instructor) this is no longer satisfactory. He/she simply must be a full A.D.I permit holder.

If you have any doubts on this matter please don’t hesitate to contact me by phone , text or email.
