BEWARE Bogus Instructors!Do you think it is natural for a complete beginner who has NEVER driven a car before to drive on a main road on or at the end of their first driving lesson?
Do you think they will be driving on their own and in full control of the vehicle?
Do you think it is fair to say they will be unbelievably nervous?
Do you think the driving instructor is operating the car with the dual controls?
The answer to the last question is OF COURSE!!
A driving instructor who has a COMPLETE BEGINNER behind the wheel on the first driving lesson is driving the car FOR YOU!
This gives the learner driver a complete false sense of security believing they are driving the car when all they are doing is holding the steering wheel and pressing the gas pedal when needed.
2 HOURS IS REQUIRED FOR THE FIRST LESSON OF A COMPLETE BEGINNER.
Learning to drive should be a structured process with step-by-step development. This means that a complete novice driver should be treated like a complete novice until they have been taught how to:
Move off with the clutch with a high degree of success.
Change up and down the gears smoothly a straight line without looking down at the gearbox or moving the wheel all over the place
Stopping the car with good timing and use of the brakes without a jolt action at the end
Operate the handbrake and other secondary controls when required.
Turning left and right confidently with good road position, observation, use of indicators, giving right of way, taking into account other traffic, pedestrians, parked vehicles, blind bends and any other hazardous situations.
Moving off on a hill without stalling or rolling backwards.
When you learn to drive with SAFETY 1ST DRIVING SCHOOL all of the above is covered in three to four driving lessons before YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DRIVE ON THE MAIN ROAD!
WHY? Because is it not better for the learner to drive the car instead of the instructor?
The instructors role is to make you feel as calm as possible, explain to you what to do as he/she builds your confidence but without driving for you!
If the your driving instructor is controlling the clutch for you or using the dual controls the whole time youre being charged for a lesson when you are not driving! You must be allowed to master the clutch on your own. The dual controls should only be used when there is POTENTIAL FOR DANGER!
If you want excellent value for money, to learn to drive and to operate all of the controls and even more importantly, understanding what you are doing and why you are doing it, that is the service you get when you learn to drive with SAFETY 1ST DRIVING SCHOOL.
